New Members Join Board of Visitors and Governors

The 2024-25 academic year began with four new members of the Board of Visitors and Governors and three retirements, including two former chairs. 

2024 New Members 

William Harvey P’10 returns to the Board after completing a successful nine-year tenure that began in 2014. Harvey retired from DuPont as president of DuPont Packaging and Industrial Polymers. 

George Spilich is a cognitive neuro-scientist and a biostatistician who retired in 2018 after 38 years as a faculty member of Washington College. He spent 20 years as the psychology department chair, won the Lindback Foundation Award for Teaching, the President’s Distinguished Service Award, was elected to O∆K, and received O∆K’s Gold Pentagon Award. 

Steve McAuliffe ’85 is a principal with the firm of Miles & Stockbridge in Rockville, Maryland, specializing in general civil litigation with an emphasis on commercial litigation. He also acts as outside general counsel for a diverse group of businesses and has served on many non-profit boards. He previously served on the Washington College Presidents Leadership Council. 

Christy Weer ’93 is a professor and former dean of the Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University. Her research interests include work-non-work interface, career development, and gender and diversity in organizations.
