New Sponsorship Opportunities at Alumni Events!
For the last few years, our office has been using the taglines “Come sit with us” and “We saved you a seat” with our alumni outreach. Beyond the very subtle Mean Girls reference, this sentiment is sincere.
We are committed to a model of two annual alumni weekends – Homecoming each fall and Spring Migration each spring. Both weekends are open to all alumni, but for Homecoming, we focus on reunion activities for alumni up to 25 years out, and for Spring Migration, we focus on those beyond that milestone, with special attention given to the 50th reunion class and 50+. This shift from a traditional, standalone June reunion weekend means that athletic competitions, lectures, club activities, theatre productions, and more are all available to visiting alumni.
Alumni always have a place at Washington College, and we want you in those seats. Your very presence enriches the student experience. Seeing alumni reconnect with old teammates, classmates, and roommates is a treat for everyone, including the participants. For our students, it is even more meaningful because it embodies the promise of how much this Washington experience matters over a lifetime. So, come sit with us.
Last year’s Homecoming Weekend boasted more than 1,000 visitors on campus. Given this success and others, we have launched sponsorship packages for these two big weekends, along with our Coast-to-Coast Toasts, which are entering their third year. Sponsoring these events allows promotion of alumni businesses and helps offset costs for the College and your fellow alumni around ticket prices.
This opportunity can also be a chance to engage more meaningfully with our office and help tailor our events to meet alumni interests. Sponsorship packages are flexible. We would love to discuss your ideas as we launch this effort and improve it over time.
But more than anything, whether you’re interested in sponsorships or not, we have saved you a seat. You belong here. Come home soon.

Leave Your Legacy
BRICK BY BRICK
The Class of 2025 took a unique approach to its senior gift campaign, raising money through a “Leave Your Legacy” brick campaign that they also promoted to alumni. Donors gave a total of $52,675, the largest senior class gift in recent College memory, which is recognized through 448 custom-inscribed bricks. On these pages are some of the more unusual inscriptions you will be able to find on the walkway between Middle Hall and the George Washington statue on the Green. The bricks were installed this fall. In addition to these unique messages, several themes emerged as popular for multiple donors:
- Thirty-two bricks honor “met and married” alumni couples
- Thirty-three were donated in memory of a loved one
- Seven feature the ever-beloved “Mom and Dad”
- At least 16 celebrate former Washington movers and shakers
